Kris Swedin

Kris Swedin serves as a consultant to Santa Fe Community College where she focuses on workforce training needs in renewable energy programs, healthcare, and the creative industries. She coordinated activities for the college in the successful passage of a $25 million bond issue, with a record 88% of voters in favor. She is currently involved in the launch of SFCC's advanced technology center, the Sustainable Technologies Center, to deliver education and workforce training in renewable energy technologies.
Ms. Swedin formerly served as the Director of the Community Economic Development Division for the City of Santa Fe, a role in which she was responsible for creating the implementation goals, action plans, strategies and budgets behind a five-year economic development plan for the city. She served in several capacities with the U.S. Small Business Administration, including assistant administrator for Congressional Affairs and chief of staff. She has also worked in various positions in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and worked to raise record sums of money for candidates running for public office.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD and a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University in Arlington, VA. |
