Creative Santa Fe, Imagined Futures announces an innovative cluster of events that will address Santa Fe as a walking city.

“Santa Fe|Ground Up” includes an invitational workshop and a public lecture entitled “Ground  Up:  Culture  and  Landscape”  by  artist,  designer  and  University  of  California Berkeley professor Walter J. Hood, Jr. at the New Mexico History Museum on July 21 at 5:00 pm.

Built around a series of workshop and events as well as public, topical lectures, IF: Imagined Futures is designed to provoke far-reaching conversations about the future of Santa Fe in regard to art and culture. The inaugural “Santa Fe|Ground Up” workshops and Hood’s lecture will focus on the public spaces and cultural landscapes of Santa Fe and other cities, and the best practices for community involvement in urban design. Future “Ground Up” presentations will address such topics as public art, site-‐‑specific art, land art and the re-purposing or multi-purposing of infrastructure to support a creative economy.
