Join us for an evening with Robert L. Lynch, president and CEO of Americans for the Arts.
Lynch will share a national perspective on trends in the arts and cultural sector, along with an overview of Americans for the Arts’ exciting New Community Visions Initiative which explores how arts and culture, in conjunction with other sectors, can be used to create healthier, more vibrant and more equitable communities.

The evening will also include Lynch in conversation with Loie Fecteau, Executive Director of New Mexico Arts, a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. Together, they will explore how arts and cultural organizations are embracing their role in addressing larger civic agendas.
Robert L. Lynch is the president and CEO of Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education in America. Lynch has more than 40 years of experience in the arts industry. Under his direction, American for the Arts has become a leader in documenting and articulating the key role played by the nonprofit arts and cultural industry, and their audiences, in strengthening our nation’s economy. He has also been instrumental in creating a strong portfolio of projects and information about the transformative value of arts in non-art areas. Americans for the Arts launched the New Community Visions Initiative in 2015. It is an ambitious two-year effort to explore the future of local arts in America and the role of community-based arts in enabling organizations, funders, cultural institutions, and artist in shaping that future.
Loie Fecteau was appointed the Executive Director of New Mexico Arts in 2004. Fecteau has focused much of her tenure on arts-based economic development and cultural tourism. These efforts have included the development of Arts Trails, designed to put New Mexico artists on the map and bring the market to them, as well as the creation of state-authorized Arts and Cultural Districts in partnership with the Economic Development Department’s MainStreet Program.
