Bio

Chad Cooper is the CEO of One Hope Financial Institution, LC3. OHFI and the OHFI Foundation were founded by Black business leaders in New Mexico to establish a financial institution that will support minority businesses with access to capital and training. OHFI’s mission is to strengthen small businesses in Black, Indigenous, and communities of color. To achieve our mission, OHFI will close the gap between BIPOC-owned businesses and access to capital, offer creative financial services including technical assistance and cultivate a welcoming culture to those underestimated entrepreneurs who have been historically excluded from traditional lending and banking.

Chad is also a Financial Advisor with Gateway Financial Advisors in Albuquerque. With nearly two decades of experience, Chad’s practice has focused on retirement income, investment, and insurance planning strategies for individuals and small businesses.

June Manning, CUDE Co-op Capital Program Manager at Nusenda

Bio

June Quintana-Manning is the Program Manager for Nusenda’s character-based lending arm, Co-op
Capital and SEG Loan Programs. These programs seek to advance access to capital for historically
marginalized community members. June has supported the credit union industry in many capacities
over the past two decades. In her prior role June worked in credit union leadership and underwriting
where she experienced first-hand the many barriers members of the community face when accessing financial services. It is her goal to help re-shape the financial industry to better support folks who are otherwise considered un-banked, un-bankable and underbanked.

Francine Sommer

Francine Sommer  |  CEO of Respected Wellness

Bio

Francine Sommer is CEO of Respected Wellness, providing wellness products for women over 45. A long-time venture capitalist specializing in early-stage  new media companies focused on emerging hardware and software technologies. She was previously co-founder and general partner of Gabelli Multimedia Partners and Special General Partner of Village Ventures. She invested in IntelliCyt, and co-founded Descartes Labs.

Drew Tulchin

Drew Tulchin  |  Consultant, Former CFO of Meow Wolf

Bio

Drew Tulchin is very active with New Mexico start-ups — most notably serving as the first CFO of Meow Wolf, a New Mexico B Corp that creates immersive arts experiences to wow. His efforts there, among others, led to raising more than $125 million in investment, purchase of a new headquarters, and growth from 50 people to more than 400. He has also worked with Build with Robots, Electric Playhouse, and Parting Stone.

Consulting has taken him across New Mexico, the U.S., to Native American nations, and more than 40 countries.  He has contributed to 100+ business plans and dozens of start-ups to get going. His work has generated over $300 million in investment and 1,000s of jobs. Drew values community engagement. He serves on Pueblo of Acoma’s Business Advisory Board, member of the Serve New Mexico Commission. He is a member of the national Social Venture Circle and Lifetime Member of Net Impact.

Riley White

Reilly White  |  Moderator

Bio

Reilly White serves as UNM Assoc. Dean of Teaching and Learning, and an Associate Professor of Finance. As a board member of the CFA Society of New Mexico he advises on the $4.7M student-run UNM Regent’s Portfolio. In addition, he leads a series of financial literacy projects in the community. With a banking analyst background Reily is well versed in ethical corporate leadership including how environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing is used to screen investments based on corporate policies and to encourage companies to act responsibly. In 2022 he received the Paul Bartlett Ré Emerging Promoter of Peace Award and has written widely on finance and financial technology and interviewed over 150 times by local and national media outlets on various economic and finance topics.
