The 2030 Governor’s Summit
September 19, 2019 at SITE Santa Fe
Sponsored by Descartes Labs

“Creative Santa Fe was an integral part of the success for the 2030 Governor’s Summit. Creative Santa Fe has a unique ability to bring together individuals and organizations on opposite sides of critical issues and political viewpoints in a productive and positive environment. This opened the door to a transformational event addressing how to pave a realistic and unified pathway for New Mexico’s environmental and energy future. Creative Santa Fe is organized, thorough, professional, and highly innovative.”
– Javier Gonzales, Business Development, Government and Public Affairs at Descartes Labs / Former Mayor of Santa Fe

Creative Santa Fe was brought on to curate the 2030 Governor’s Energy and Environmental Technology Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico with the State of New Mexico and Descartes Labs. The Summit brought together industry leaders across the political spectrum including EOG Resources, Occidental Petroleum, Pioneer Natural Resources, Los Alamos National Laboratories, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), and a host of other energy-related technology companies and climate-related sustainability leaders to explore cutting-edge innovations that create a pathway for New Mexico’s environmental and energy future. The Summit proved to be an excellent forum for the interaction of differing opinions grounded in the great equalizers of science and technology to build a roadmap for New Mexico’s energy future and to reach the Governor’s pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030.

In a key announcement, the Governor and Descartes Labs unveiled the development of a publicly accessible Data Refinery to help the state meet environmental targets by creating mapping and modeling capabilities to monitor methane emissions in New Mexico, starting with the Permian Basin.

Santa Fe Data Platform
2019- Ongoing
Sponsored by Thornburg Foundation

“We could not have built the Santa Fe Data Platform without Creative Santa Fe’s incredible expertise in convening key stakeholders, building public-private partnerships, and negotiating complex dynamics and personalities. They helped raise essential dollars as well as create an authentic collaboration between government, foundation and private sector interests. This was a ‘from scratch’ project that required a lot of quick-thinking and diplomatic problem solving; the Creative Santa Fe team overcame these obstacles with professionalism and ease.”
-Heather Balas, Policy Officer, Thornburg Foundation

In 2019, Creative Santa Fe was contracted by the Thornburg Foundation to help create the Santa Fe Data Platform.
