Jon Wettersten is a designer, educator, and leader with decades of experience championing human-centered design to bridge business, technology, and creativity. His career spans healthcare, software, and consumer products, where he has driven innovation through a multidisciplinary approach to solving complex challenges.
Currently, Jon serves as Head of Design for 8th Light, a software consultancy, where he directs design strategy and fosters collaboration across teams. He is also an Expert in Residence at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, mentoring entrepreneurs in the Zell Fellows program.
Previously, Jon was an Executive Design Director at IDEO, where he guided organizations through transformative design-to-delivery processes and advanced medical device innovation, earning two U.S. patents for GE Healthcare. A graduate of St. Olaf College, Jon draws on his liberal arts background in math, music, and studio arts to develop thoughtful and creative design solutions.
